Exposition of My Independent Novel

I chose ,"I always wanted to be somebody" by Althea Gibson. I chose this book because the heading was very interesting and I also like books from the 50's because I can relate to how different things were. My book takes place in the 50's and the main character is called Althea, she gets in fights and likes boxing.  Althea gets in a lot of trouble so her parent need to hit her so she can understand but, whenever her dad hits her she hits him back. One of her dad's mistake was to teach her how to fight to defend herself because that how she started to get violent.

A new chance for hope!

Reginald Wilson and Wesley McCammon
Doesn’t anyone wonder what a child can bring to your life? People always say it is the best thing in the world to have a child. People that can not have a child have a chance, adoption. It can bring many things and by just adopting a child it can rescue them from horrible situations. Even though the cost is high adopting it can rescue and give the child better health and a better life. Therefore it gives the child and you a better life and, a new chance. Reginald Wilson and Wesley Mccammon were in love but, they could not marry because it wasn't legal. They wanted to begin a family and  they did, when it was legal they adopted a girl and a boy. Reginald and Wesley were very smart and they were working in school a lot. Their child's were academically and socially active. they were also in at of sports, music and dance activities. The parents have been together for decades and since the day they met their children they said, “From that moment, we knew that they were going to be our children.” Reginald and Wilson
According to Tina Traster, it was a “scary and twisted long road” adopting Julia. She says for the first few months she was suffering of depression. Tina adopted julia from Siberian and, it was 10,000 miles away from where she lived. She said that in the first days Julia was their, she notices Julia was very shy. Tina enrolled julia into a pre-school and still julia did not interact with anyone. Tina quickly noticed something wrong and took Julia to the doctors and the doctor said Julia was suffering of “Reactive Attachment Disorder.” It took skill and patience and she was beginning to bond with her husband and her. They both would help pitch in every time Julia would do tantrums. Over the few months thankfully Julia was confident with Tina and her husband.  As Tina Traster says “ the battle will always be mighty.” understand their situation.

First of all, the  most important reason people should adopt is to help kids health. When taking care of an adopted child it's the best idea to know their permit health record. Knowing the diseases the child has or diseases that run in their family is a good thing to know, so that in the future he or she can be aware. Also knowing if the child has had any type of abuse is good, so the parents can get help. Parents should have counseling for them and for their child so they can have emotional support.
The child's Personality can tell a lot and it's good knowing the problems the have had in the past with other people so we can prevent situations. How the child has grown is very important to know how they talked walked just to make sure they don't have any problems. Height and weight is also needed to know so the parents can be aware of what they need to eat for their body to be healthy. In conclusion, knowing all of these things can prevent bad situation that can take  your adopted child away.

Even though it costs a lot, it's worth it .Many other people can say, the reason not many people adopt children is because it cost too much. Also maybe their was too many rules that the parents couldn’t handle. Money is very hard to get and you only get it with hard work. The average of the cost of a child from   your country is $1,000.
Money is very valuable and, very stressful so many people take care of it.  The cost for a newborn and, most likely a lot of people will want a younger child. The cost of a newborn is $30,000. Also parents have to have counseling for their adopted child so the cost of that is extra. If the child is from a different country it would be $25,000 to $50,000

Secondly, people should adopt because you rescue a child from abuse. Adoption can help in many ways and in one of them is from rescuing the child from dangerous and, harsh situations. Times are hard for parents when they have kids and they can't maintain them and give them the resources they need. Many kids come from lack of support, maybe their parents don't pay attention to them.
When parents don't have money or food the best idea is to give their child for adoption. If their child is suffering to get food and, what they need then adoption is the option. Kids who come from poor countries also go for adoption so they can have a future. Knowing what's best for your child is better than letting them suffer.

Finally, the  most important reason people should adopt is to help kids health.

Height and weight is also needed to know so the parents can be aware of what they need to eat for their body to be healthy. In conclusion, knowing all of these things can prevent bad situation that can take your adopted child away.

Finally, in my theses I found evidence about true and real stories of families becoming a loving and happy family. Adoption is a serious and helpful for many people because it can change life.It can rescue, give a better life and most importantly give the adopted child a healthy place to live. Also a healthy body to go on in life and be educated. Even though adoption costs a lot it's worth every penny.

Interview

For my interview I chose my uncle, Arturo Rojas I chose him because he has always been someone I look up to. He has a very loving family and is a hardworking person. He has always been their for our family and always makes an effort of helping the family. He has been a one of a kind uncle and a inspiration to me.

The first question I asked was , “When was the happiest moment in your life?” He said when his kids were born because ,”Its a wonderful feeling.” Then I said , “What type of feelings were you feeling in that moment?” My uncles said, “ happy , emotional and, excited but most of all blessed.”

My second question was “Who is the person who has influenced your life?”
It only took him a second to respond, “My wife.” I asked him, “Why has she influenced your life so much?” He said, “Its because she has done so much for my family and she has always made me the happiest and I feel very  blessed to be with her.”

My third question is, “What do you regret the most?” He took a long time to finally answer the question and said, “I think getting a tattoo and not staying in school.” I asked “why? Do you think your life would have changed?” He quickly answered, “Yes because, I think I would proud to be the only one out of the family that would go to college or even graduate and, I also think i would make my family very proud.”

My fourth question was a deep and interesting question. The question was, “How will you like to be remembered by?” He replied and said, “By a father who influenced his kid and was a one of a kind person.” I think he said that because he has always wanted the best for his kids.

The last question i asked him was, “Would you like to change your life?” He took a long time staring at the clouds and at his clouds and said, “No, because I have a wife, kids , shelter and loving family and friends.” I was very surprised because they're so much in life how could he not want anything else. That gave me different perspective my uncle but in each question he answered told me a lot about him.

Standing up for the Baudelaire's!

In the book it is taking place in the cafiteria and the Baudelaire's don't have a place to sit dice their are a lot of kids in that school. While klaus asks Carmelita she calls them cakesniffing orphans in the orphan shack! Then the rest of the kids their say it. A boy backs them up and tells them to sit next to them. I thought what the boy did was correct beacuse it's already bad enough the orphans had to go through the death of their parents and now the bully. Eventually the boys sister had made a connection with klaus, they both liked poetry. The girls name is Isadora she wrote a little poetry but made a poet for the Baudelaire's about Carmilita.

Not my kind of school!

In the chapter that I am in, in the book The Austere Academy the Baudelaires think that the shack is better. They mention that it is way better being in the shack then with Count Olaf. They say it's better because their not as much rules and Count Olaf and they don't have to stand he's mean sayings. In the school they had very weird punishments like if you are late to class they will tie your hands behind your back as punishment from being late to class. When I read that I thought that was a unusual punishment and in the book the Baudelaires they said they saw the kids their very unhappy. Another thing that the kids mentioned was that the principal makes them buys snacks. I don't think I wuld enjoy going to that school.

Happines in everything

So the shack that the Baudelaires are staying in is gross. They notice the shack was infested with small crabs. The crabs how, the baudelaires describe it that it is the size of a match box. The shack also had fungus that was growing on the ceiling. Klaus and violet, and sunny said the good things about living their, like going to school, meeting new people, and learning new things. I really like how the baudelaires are so unique and that's really cool because they have been through so much. Also that always have a way of finding happiness in anything, or in any situation.
